the microclimate and the characteristics of the vines
Pierre believes the wine posseses "pinot-like" characteristics such as red fruit flavors and bredth on the palate -- despite it being 100% Chardonnay -- which he attributes to this unique terroir
• Wine is aged for 24 to 26 months in barrel (10% new oak)
vinfied with whole cluster and aged in a mix of amphora and cement
11 months on its skins in large amphoras makes the wine an intense orange color
2023 Ehmoser Josef Gruner Veltliner Hohenberg 1st Lage Wagram, Austria Caffo the microclimate and the characteristicsThis single vineyard wine comes from the heart of the south facing Hohenberg, located high on the hills in the western section of Grossweikersdorf. The singularity of the wine is underscored through its distinctive loess soil and its maturation in large wooden barrels. Packed with yellow fruits, the nose shows hints of smoke and spice and the delicate aromas of herbs and pepper.
