Alchemy Sea Silk Cathedral hand-carried home from JapanThe Alchemy Collection is the studio's most labor intensive work. A meditative felting process unique to Aviva Stanoff Design. Fine wools, cashmere, silk, flax, lace, and found materials are coaxed together by hand, one element at a time, building translucency against opacity, fiber against fiber, until they become one surface. Twenty to thirty hours per piece. No two ever alike.
