though he also looks a bit as if he might be just-in from a long day fishing out in the rain or snow
Elsie Zimmerman's Full of Character Graphite Chair Drawing, c. 1930s wooden watermelon slice in just the right wayThis chair was one of a handful of school drawings found in Lancaster County PA by a young Elsie Zimmerman, c. 1930s I believe. I've come to recognize standard programs of drawing exercises for grade school students during various decades, and have had one other chair drawing of a similar ilk to this one, which I believe was part of the program during that period, an exercise in perspective I believe. I love it very much as a stand alone drawing one
