It's modelled after bigger, fancier tripods, and it shares some nice features (in slightly more lightweight form): three position legs, a removable single action ball head, and a foam sleeve on one of the legs for cold weather carrying comfort. This is not a heavy duty tripod it's mostly plastic and thin aluminum but
