Petticoat Lane 1948 Size:XXL: 127 x 100cm William Hogarth's tomb in StCrowds besieged Petticoat lane to buy their Christmas presents and as usual developed into a milling throng. Every conceivable item was on sale including baked chestnuts, ice cream, sleeping dolls and rat traps. A band of blind musicians were playing Christmas Carols and although the music was sweet and seasonal, it was difficult to pick them out from among the throng of people. 19th December 1948.
