Losses as documented but overall good condition

The stone itself is carved one one side with the name of its onetime owner

There is a clarity and boldness to watercolor drawings in this manner that I find as good and satisfying as just about anything

Lacquer Snuff Box Lid with Handsome Portrait, Period Framed 20th century ledger drawing The box is stamped PhangSuch a striking portrait on this lacquered papier mache snuff box lid, early mid 19th c. of a gentlewoman I think, in broad brimmed green hat, but appealingly androgynous looking. And what a beautiful framing of it, with silver leaves around the perimeter (akin to what one sees on framed painted miniature portraits of the time) that amplify the borders on the lid itself, and with brass hanging loop at top. It appears the portrait is a hand colored
