and shelves stacked with mis-matched teacups

who worked as a metalsmith and jewelry designer in Paris before establishing a studio in San Francisco in the mid-90s making functional and decorative cast pewter accessories and objects

Some wear to the box including a stain and  "Peterson" written on the front

and in this case I rather like it as a complement to the twisted bracelet around the wrist

Striking Signed Inuit Black Stone Duck trompe l'oeil It is cut of galvanizedI find the form of this one so beautiful, with the neck and body forming a nearly perfect 90 degree angle, like a perfectly bent elbow, and then almost an exact 45 degree angle could be drawn from beak to tail. I have often said my favorite Inuit pieces hold multiple states or opposing gestures in harmonic balance, which I think this carving does in the most succinct way possible, body pointing straight ahead, head turned straight back.
