Description
offering juicy dark berry and cherry pit flavors and a touch of licorice
Sweetness at the start and then a hot chewy end
The palate mixes that chalky minerality with the juiciness of the Garnacha
It is at the beginning of a long drinking window
The tannins are soft and ripe
Branon other_regions offering juicy dark berry andThe 2009 Branon has a pure bouquet with black cherries, bilberry and just a touch of boot polish. It feels well defined with nicely integrated oak. The palate is medium bodied with supple tannin, juicy and succulent with a nicely detailed, quite peppery finish with a persistent aftertaste. Based on this performance I might well have under estimated this Pessac Lognan. Tasted blind at Farr Vintners 2009 Bordeaux tasting. Neal Martin
