Lovely Hand-painted Japanese Treen Nesting Eggs folk art model boat The dustcover on this copyThe kin of these Japanese nesting eggs are the treen apples one sees around from time to time housing a spinning horse race game inside. These are a bit rarer from what I can tell, c. 1920s 40s I believe, with each of the eggs but for the largest one hand decorated, I would guess while they were spinning around on a lathe. This set yields five complete eggs, which hold together snugly, and then there are four more unmatched halves that fit neatly
