SOLD Super Painterly Photo of Flag and Shore Printed from Aboard the Canadian Pacific Duchess 1940s german also of PhiladelphiaA very painterly and poetic feeling old photo, which a stamp on the back reveals was taken, and printed, aboard the Canadian Pacific Line's SS Duchess of Bedford, a steamship built and launched in 1928. I just love the atmospheric quality of the image, as if taken on a very moody and foggy day, with soft edged landmasses on the horizon and just the edge of what I take for an American flag in the foreground, its stripes framing and defining the view ,
