but everything seems in excellent working order--a really terrific little kit inside a beautiful box

C. 1870s and made of mahogany with several different wood inlays, I believe it may have been a collections box, with the initials EH standing for a church or charity rather than the monogram of an individual, but I am not entirely certain.
