I don't believe it is very old (I found another with the same fox and a pewter lid being sold online by a German importer)

and what appears to be a lithographed eye still on one side

It also appears that there are a few smudges of blue glaze indigenous to the piece

where he was a professor of art at the University of Zurich from 1953-1973

I've looked and looked and have not found another with the same form, so I'm not sure of the maker, but I'm pretty sure earlyish 20th century American. Possibly Zanesville, which I always gravitate to! One of the things I love about this green glaze is that it is gorgeous in combination with anything, and looking at it now makes me look forward to the first daffodils of spring.
