Charles Old Goodford, Provost of Eton College mb-artistname Louis de Silvestre 'The Real Irish CourtCharles Old Goodford, Provost of Eton College, 1878. Goodford became an assistant master at Eton, his former school, in 1835 when still a Cambridge undergraduate. He went on to become headmaster in 1853, and provost in 1862, a position which he held until his death 22 years later.
