Sony FA-HS1AM Flash Adapter  type_Batteries possibly not even MinoltaThe Sony FA HS1AM does two potentially useful things: First, it converts the proprietary "iISO" hot shoe on your Sony or Minolta camera into a standard hot shoe, so you can use any "normal" ISO flash. Second, it provides voltage protection so that flash doesn't fry your camera's electronics. Pretty good deal, I think.
