The true Effigies of the Members of the Calves Head Club, held on the 30th of January 1734 in Suffolk Street. View of the Golden Eagle, Suffolk Street. Among drinkers at the windows, one holds an axe, another a calf's head. The Club was pro Cromwell and on 30th January 1734 its provocative actions so infuriated people that they stoned the inn where the members were meeting.
