Germany, Imperial. A Naval Wound Badge, Black Grade Province of China (This Officer’s version is much(Verwundetenabzeichen der Marine in Schwarz). Constructed of blackened bronze, the obverse consisting of an oval chain link wreath, around a raised anchor defaced by crossed swords, in turn situated over a pebbled background, the reverse with a crimped hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 40. 24 mm (w) x 46. 46 mm (h), weighing 9. 3 grams, demonstrating near total loss of black finish, in very fine condition.
