Shoe buckle Finish:Single towards Ken Wood and JohnThis shoe buckle is said to have belonged to Lord Brouncker (1620 1684), first President of the Royal Society. It is set with paste jewels imitating diamonds. Many of the early Fellows, including Brouncker, moved in fashionable court circles where they had access to the king and nobility. 17th century
