Bavaria, Kingdom. A Pilot’s Badge, C.1925 consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac x 4 cm (w)(Flugzeugfhrerabzeichen). Constructed of silvered tombak, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by a bow tie ribbon, topped by a Bavarian crown, around a central depiction of a monoplane flying over a rural landscape, the reverse with a vertical pinback, unmarked, measuring 46. 13 mm (w) x 73. 78 mm (h), weighing 11. 4 grams, in extremely fine condition.
