Constructed of gilded zink, the obverse consisting of a shield bearing a propeller, anchor, and edelweiss, representing the Luftwaffe, Kriegsmarine, and Gebirgsjger, flanked by a date of 1940, and topped by an inscription of NARVIK with a German national eagle perched on a wreathed swastika, affixed with all four reverse attachment prongs to a zink backplate with a obverse and reverse dark blue wool liners indicating Kriegsmarine
