In bronze gilt, a medal with the obverse features a profile of Karl I, the reverse presents the inscription SIGNVM LAVDIS surrounded by an oak and laurel wreath, the medal is surmounted by dual crowns of the Austrian Empire and Kingdom of Hungary, marked BRONZE on rim, measures 30. 6mm (w) x 45. 5mm (h inclusive of integral ring), weighs 21. 9 grams (including ribbon), worn on ribbon
