Germany, Imperial. A Wound Badge, Black Grade Hold when he was Killed in(Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz). An oval badge constructed of blackened tombac, the obverse with a Stahlhelm in the centre, superimposed on crossed swords within a wreath of laurel leaves with a tied bow at the bottom, the reverse presents a vertical pin assembly, measures 39. 16 mm (w) x 44. 26 mm (h), weighs 9. 3 grams, and in extremely fine condition.
