Germany, Imperial. A Wound Badge, Black Grade Newly Listed By May 1917(Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz). A stamped blackened metal (magnetic) badge, the obverse pebbled with a Stahlhelm in the centre superimposed on crossed swords within a wreath of laurel leaves with a tied bow at the bottom, the reverse plain with a functional hinge catch assembly, unmarked, measuring 39. 42 mm (w) x 42. 29 mm (h), weighing 9. 3 grams, with some of its finish chipped off the Stahlhelm, and in overall very fine condition.
