Footnote: Private William Humble Lord (service no. 27 1009) served with C Company, 27th (4th Tyneside Irish) Battalion, Northumberland Fusiliers, during the First World War. Born in 1878 at Friarside, County Durham, the son of Lambert and Mary Ann Lord, he worked in the local collieries before
