Trimmed, original inscription on a separate paper slip: 'GEORGE FORDYCE. M: D. F: R: S. Senior Physician of St. Thomas's Hospital.' Inscribed in pencil lower left '1776': George Fordyce was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1776. Original: mezzotint. 1795
