(1850 issue) Constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse with a central monogram of Landgrave Ferdinand, above an inscription of GESTIFTED AM 4 JUNI 1850 (INSTITUTED ON 4 JUNE 1850), within a laurel and oak wreath, the reverse with an inscription of FR TREUEN DIENST IM KRIEGE (FOR LOYAL SERVICE IN WAR), unmarked, measuring 31. 21 mm in
