Hardshelled, balsa wood frame, black lacquer finish with a gilt insignia of the order and Japanese characters on the lid, padded purple silk lining on the inside lid, missing its raised platform with recessed medal bed, latch closure, scuffing along wear and contact marks evident on the exterior, missing one screw on the hinge where affixes to the lid, case near fine.
