Anhalt, Duchy. A Friedrich Cross for Non-Combatants Hold pages 228-233(Friedrich Kreuz fr Nichtkmpfer). Instituted 12 December 1914 by Duke Friedrich II. (1914 1918 issue). Constructed of bronze, on original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Patte, the obverse bearing a central raised monogram of Duke Friedrich II, the six oclock arm bearing an institution date of 1914, the reverse bearing a central raised inscription of FR VERDIENST IM KRIEGE (FOR MERIT IN WAR), unmarked, measuring 37. 3mm (w) x 42. 0 mm (h), in extremely
