The Westminster canvass mb-artistname Samuel Rawle Cornhill and King William Street'The Westminster canvass', 1784. Charles James Fox, as Guy Fawkes, being carried in a chair by his supporters Edward Hall and Sam House. In his right hand is a dark lantern inscribed Amor Patriae, (love of one's country), in his left a bundle of matches labelled For the new Parliament. This is a satire on the Westminster election.
