Constructed of grey bakelite, the obverse bearing a raised German national eagle clutching a banner bearing initials R. D. H. (Reichsverband fr das Deutsche Hundewesen German Kennel Club), flanked by an inscription of REICHSVERBAND FR DAS DEUTSCHE HUNDEWESEN, above a mobile swastika overlaid by a banner bearing an inscription of FR HERVORRAGENDE LEISTUNG (FOR OUTSTANDING MERIT), designer marked
