'Head of Otegoowgoow, Son of a New Zealand Chief...' Joseph 3rd May 1993Lieutenant James Cook's party encountered Otegoowgoow in late November 1769, in New Zealand's Bay of Islands. He was wounded in the thigh by a gun fired from Endeavour.
