Italy, Kingdom. An Order of St. Maurice and St. Lazarus, c.1900 certificate_of_authenticity a crown and ribbon banner(Ordine dei Santi Maurizio e Lazzaro). Instituted in 1572 by Pope Gregory XIII at the request of Emmanuel Philibert, Duke of Savoy. In silver gilt, a white enamelled Shamrock cross with a green enamelled Maltese cross arm in each quadrant, surmounted by a crown, obverse mirrors the reverse, measures 39. 47 mm (w) x 60. 8 mm (h), weighs 13. 8 grams, worn on a replacement green ribbon, enamels intact, in extremely fine condition.
