Constructed of silver, the obverse with a leftward facing profile of Prince Regent Luitpold circumscribed by name and title, the reverse with a richly detailed depiction of Bavarian cavalry on parade, topped by an inscription of DER SCHTZENBUND MNCHEN (THE SHOOTING LEAGUE OF MUNICH) and above an inscription of ZUR ERINNERUNG AN DIE RUHMVOLEN TAGE 1870 71 (IN MEMORY OF THE GLORIOUS DAYS OF 1870 71), the reverse maker marked
