A War Merit Cross, Second Class with Swords. (Kriegsverdienstkreuz II. Klasse mit Schwertern). Instituted in October 1939. Constructed of bronze, unmarked, on a loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, measuring 49. 3 mm (w) x 48. 9 mm (l). 2. A War Merit Cross, Second Class without Swords. (Kriegsverdienstkreuz II. Klasse ohne Schwerter).
