Germany, SS. A Rare Waffen-SS Officer’s Flat Wire Cap Eagle Hold a Prince Henry of Prussia(Waffen SS Mtzenabzeichen fr Offiziere). Constructed of black rayon, the obverse bearing a silver aluminum flat wire SS style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, applied with careful machine stitching, affixed to a field grey wool base retrieved from a Waffen SS service cap (most likely a Schiffchen overseas cap), the insignia measuring 74 mm (w) x 30 mm (h), the wings rendered slightly downward pointing with the cut of the
