Footnote: Able Seaman Albert John Merritt, son of George and Sarah Merritt, of 24, Valnay St., Tooting, London. Merritt was serving aboard HMS Good Hope, a Drake class armored cruiser, that served as the flagship for Rear Admiral Sir Christopher Cradock during the early days of World War I. She was sunk with all hands on November 1, 1914, during the Battle of Coronel off
