Constructed of bronzed zink, the obverse consisting of a central oval laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by crossed swords, topped by a Kriegsmarine eagle clutching a mobile swastika, around a U Boat set across a hollow background, flanked on each side by six oak leaves, the reverse with an integral barrel hinge and fluted horizontal pinback meeting a round wire catcher, designer marked PEEKHAUS and maker
