the obverse with a central gilt medallion bearing a monogram of Kaiser Wilhelm II and a date of “1900”

within its original box of issue

In bronze with red enamels, ball finials on the tips of the star points, unmarked, measuring 56 mm (w) x 64 mm (h), horizontal pinback, repair and crazing evident in the red enamels on the star point at 10 o'clock, with contact marks overall, near fine. Footnote: The Gallipoli Star was a military decoration awarded by the Ottoman Empire. It is also known as the Ottoman War Medal. It was instituted by Sultan Mehmed
