Hi, my name is Chandani and I have recently joined the Joy of Learning team as a trustee. It has been amazing to see the work that Emily and team have already completed and I hope that I can help further grow the charity. I first heard about Sanyu Babies Home through Emily who I met whilst studying at university. It was through Emily’s stories and photographs at Sanyu, I got to know all about these beautiful children and hear about every cheeky character and the amount of work every individual put into the development and care of these children.

As a volunteer with girlguiding I can see the curiosity of children and their eagerness to learn. The impact that  education has on a child is life changing. It is an honour to be part of a team which can provide the same for those children who have already had a hard start in life, and continue the hard work and development that Sanyu has already provided to these children.

I cannot wait to see the charity grow and foster hope and bring empowerment to so many families through the power of education and hopefully one day go Uganda and meet the children who the Joy of Learning supports.
