Pin and ribbon sold at the game to honour Morenz's sudden passing on March 8, 1937 after suffering an injury in a January 29th, game vs Chicago Blackhawks. Proceeds from the night were presented to the Morenz family. The game played the night before the opening of the 1937 39 NHL season schedule featured an all star team made of
