Due to engine and manufacturing problems the aircraft was replaced by the Hawker Typhoon in 1943
the Hunting Percival and BAC Jet Provost was in service as an ab initio jet trainer for the RAF from 1955 to 1993
Successes were 20 Argentine aircraft shot down with two losses from ground fire and four to accidents
This type was the first canard design produced in quantity and the most advanced fighter in Europe until the introduction of the Panavia Tornado

Many types were involved, from logistical tasks to ground attack. During the campaign the Hercules performed over 50 airdrops and more than 600 airbridge sorties.
