Amy Louise Mason

Hi, I’m Amy and I recently graduated from Aberystwyth University in 2020 after studying Geography. It was at Aberystwyth that I met Emily, the founder of Joy of Learning, whilst we were both studying. Through Emily’s volunteering, I soon became involved with Sanyu Babies’ Home through various fundraising events and started to get to know some of the children through Emily’s stories. Over the last two years I have helped with the Sanyu Christmas project by collecting and shipping many boxes filled with stationary, clothing, toiletries and gifts to Uganda. It was so rewarding to be a part of this project as you could see the sheer joy on the faces of the staff’s children at Sanyu Babies’ Home – made all the more special after 2 difficult years due to COVID.

After seeing the amazing wok of Sanyu Babies’ Home, I am delighted to be working as a trustee for Joy of Learning. I am currently studying for my Masters in Biodiversity and Conservation at Oxford University and I hope to fly out to visit Uganda and Sanyu Babies’ Home as soon as possible.

I am so excited to see how the work of this charity will put a smile on the faces of so many children and I want to thank everyone in advance for all of your help and support.
